A time of no consequence 2

He walked on, alone in the crowd. He was different. But no one knew, no one suspected a thing. He was always apprehensive of crowds. He would be afraid of the things that were to happen. Like the way he stopped just before the light actually turned green. The way he avoided bumps on the street just a fraction of a second too early.

Make no mistake about it, he loved the world. He thought his environment was the best thing since bread came pre-sliced (to use a phrase from our world). Now he was worried because although he could tell what side a coin was going to fall on just before it did, he wanted more. He wanted to look at the sky and tell if it would rain. He wanted to be the one with certainty in his life.

So he dug up the past. He looked through the information that had not been accessed for eons. He wanted to know.

In a life without care, we let our guard down. In a relation without troubles, we forget what makes it stick. He started taking things for granted. He never thought his freedom was limited. He forgot the lessons his race had learnt through the sacrifice of so many.

The time for consequences was near. Sadly, this one he did not see coming.

A time of no consequence 1

It was a time of no consequence.

The man walked. We’ll call him man, for the world had not evolved enough for dialects to be translated clearly enough into our language.

It was a world just unlike ours. The men lived on water and air. The plants were busy developing and kept their faith on what they called technology. They were plants just unlike we have on our world. The walked and communicated. They built metropolis after metropolis.

The man I want to focus on was walking alone, eons after the Great War. There was a war; don’t all good stories have one? Well this war was between the plants and men. The men won of course. Technology dint stand a chance. Not against the devastating force of Gaia. Gaia’s warriors, if they could be called that, overran the pitiable plants and their machines. To cut a long story short, the current world order didn't leave much scope for ‘science’. A stress free, worry free utopia had been established, with the necessary underbelly of workers to maintain it too. For the residents, their world was utopia itself.

They were cajoled into a sense of peace. Comfort will do that to you. Even in a relationship.

It was a time of no consequence, or so they thought.

Ka-Boom

Of course, then something happens that makes your head go kaboom.

And yet, life goes on in spite of it all... It has to.

Life goes on......

Choices Choices

There comes a time in everyone's life when you have to make a choice, either a professional choice or a personal choice.... And sometimes you just have to do what's right for your friend, even if it means sacrificing your own happiness. And when it comes down to it, you just have to be proud of the decision you make.
