A time of no consequence 3

He walked on. The day was mild, as it always was. Theirs was a perfect world. A world with no need for air conditioners or the need for raincoats. A world without the need for weathermen and their ridiculous predictions. The world was precise. Their world was precise. Everyone knew just when it would rain and just when it would stop. The past three centuries had not seen even one deviation from the schedule.

The day drew him in, the slow wind flowing past his body, bringing warmth with it that the skin craved. The smell of water flowing slowly filled his senses as he got closer to his destination. An image filled his mind, an image of a clear green meadow, a lone tree adorning it, a gentle mist in the air. Images from his childhood replaced the imaginations in his head as he walked further from the fountain, a symbol of power on their desert planet.

The man walked into the plush interiors that made up the reception of his office. A stark contrast from the most common view on his planet, the inside was filled with images of flowing waterfalls. It was meant to inspire the ones who worked there.

The funny thing was the images were of waterfalls from a little known planet in the corner of the Milky Way.
